Update
October 29, 2025

We're excited to announce the launch of a new free Community Learning Series starting in January 2026. This series dedicated to sharing accessible cybersecurity knowledge from nonprofit professionals to community members looking to protect their families. The events will move beyond technical jargon to provide practical, actionable steps that can be implemented immediately, regardless of budget or prior experience.

"Our goal is to empower our community with the confidence and skills to defend against digital threats," said Kai Dailey, program manager and founder of 501Secure. "You don't need to be an IT expert to learn basic steps that can significantly reduce cyber risk for your organization and family. Our series is very human-centered. We talk about practical, low-cost efforts and how to apply, including having those conversations with co-workers or family members."

The initial lineup for the 2025 series includes the following events:

Cybersecurity Awareness on a Shoestring: Practical Steps for Small Budgets

Navigating Google Workspace Security Checklists for Admins

Create a Plan to Secure Your Nonprofit Against Online Threats

Managing Cybersecurity for Older Family Members

Specific dates, session details, and registration information for the January events can be found on our schedule page: https://www.501secure.org/schedule. All events will be free and open to the public. Some are online events and others will be held at local libraries in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.
